Bad Social Media Drives Me Crazy
The whiny friend who won’t stop posting. The company that uses hashtags for #every #single #word. These are just a few of the things that drive me to create better digital content and connect meaningfully with others through social media. After going to school to sing opera, I wrote “The Anti-Social Media,” a social media satire and humor website that was listed as one of Social Media Examiner’s social media blog of the year. I ran that until 2016.
In the meantime, I worked at agencies big and small to help their clients with their digital communications, advertising and social media. If it touched social media, from marketing and advertising, community management to hiring, I’ve dealt with it and made it better for my clients. Rogue employees? I’ve handled them. Catastrophic business failure? I’ve built the protocols to triage incoming messages from customers. Offensive marketing? I’ve been there flag it before it hits national news.
I’m currently write Slicer, a digital newsletter about what’s new, what’s next, and what you should pay attention to. I also dabble in new and emerging channels to stay up to date with what’s current.
I live outside of Raleigh, North Carolina with my two cats, and I make no apologies for the number of cat photos I post on Instagram.
